This Motion Graphics video was produced to promote the Discovery Center for Industry in Santa Catarina, Brazil. It was a great challege since I was responsible for its art direction, animation and sound design. I got this challenge from my friends at Lince Produtora, they gave me freedom to create something cool for their cliente.
The Project
To make this video I searched for Flat Design and 3D references, I wanted to work with something between these visual references. I've collected many videos to understand what I would show to the client.
Before designing in Illustrator or Photoshop I've preferred to draft on my sketchbook to understand the sequence. As you can see, my skills in drawing are limited but they helped a lot.
I used the drafts as a guide to produce the storyboard in Photoshop, Cinema 4D and Illustrator. Cinema 4D was used to model some of the elements I would use in the final animation. At this stage I also used some icons from the Creative Cloud Market.
When the storyboard was 90% approved, I started to animate in After Effects and Cinema 4D. After animating, I added some transitions to make it smoother avoiding jump cuts. With all the sequences animated, I added a soundtrack and some sound effects I've found on web.
